my parents are like that too. It's ok, don't take it to heart the stuff that you make is really great, it's just that the older generation tends to have a fixed mindset of which occupations are more worthwhile..

Wow. Don't worry to much hun, you have wonderful talent in craft and art. You just got to show her your art and how people love your work. Must parents have a hard time understanding art and don't see it as a money making or that you will get anything out of it, because you just put stuff together. But statically those that are into art get better grades and have better management in problem solve (you can use that for a reason XD).

I don't even talk to my mom about DA at first, because she was the same way. But once she saw how much I loved it and that I could start my own small art business through DA. She came around : 3.

Shes a mother, thats what they do! Especially fob parents like ours don't really understand that these days we are in a position to live our lives quite comfortably doing what we enjoy with little sacrifice. Though I am surprised shes not supportive of crafts... If my mother saw me sewing and stuff first she'd give me work to do and second she'd question my sexuality, but thats different for a guy

but yea, i guess a lot of people suffer from the same thing. my dad says i sit around doing nothing when i am drawing......... but at times he is supportive so i get really confused....... i really really hope your mother will come to understand what you do, and i hope it happens soon
